Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong had become a very good example for open risk taker entrepreneurs. At the age of 19, Lim Goh Tong decided to take the plunge in venturing out to Malaysia. He had worked with his uncle as a carpenter, by then he starts to save some money (from his salary) until he can own a company named KientHuat. Lim Goh Tong starts to develop an idea to build Genting Highland when Lim Goh Tong was having a dinner at Cameron Highlands.
Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong was a founder of Genting Group. He builds Genting Highlands Resorts as an entertainment and leisure center of the world's leading. At the same time, he owned the biggest hotel in the entire world, the Genting First World Hotel. Apart from that, he also owned cruise boat industries which are the third largest cruise ship in the world.
Lim Goh Tong had involved in oil and gas exploration in Asian and Europe. The Genting Group established in 1965 and now has been diversified into many other industries such as plantations, property, paper, power generation, oil and gas exploration, cruise boat industries and the largest casino in Asia.Any possibilities that might bring him down has made him willing to accept it with fortitude and even trying to make it as something that can push him forward in order to create a better future for himself or else. If he has never braved enough to take the risk, he will probably never become a successful entrepreneur. The emergence of a world-class tourism center is from his ideas that had been labeled as 'mad' at the few years ago. He received the mockery from the public and make the mockery as a motivation for him to move forward. Many people say that the idea will not give benefits and at the same time there are not promised a return on capital investment because there was no any person entrusted with his commerce. He does like that because he wanted to achieve his ambition. He also was the first who arrive at work and also be the last person return from the workplace. He always keep the welfare of his employees and believes that all of them are the most valuable asset in his business.
